The. Banter. Chef’s kiss banter in this book. I absolutely LOVED the sarcasm, the back and forth, and the witty lines! If a book has good banter between the main characters, I am pretty much guaranteed to devour it! I read it in less than a day, and I still miss Jack and Ada! The sexual tension and build up throughout the story was so tangible while reading. We’ve all been there. That time in your life when you have a crush, and no matter how hard you fight it, there’s this undeniable chemistry that keeps you coming back together like magnets. The author described it perfectly! When I read the acknowledgements, I was honestly shocked that this was the first book for this author. She captured the essence of the storyline so well and it all felt incredibly genuine. The sex scene was literally amazing. Everything was described in a real way that allowed you to actually picture the moment and get engulfed in this huge culmination of 260 pages of tension. I would have really liked for there to have been at least one more intimate scene between them. It felt like such a long wait for this one moment, and then bam it was over, and we only got the shortest glimpse into their physical connection after witnessing their mental and emotional connection for so long. The only other criticism I had was that after reading such a realistic story the whole time, I felt like the ending was slightly unrealistic. To not talk for an entire year, not even text, and then they both happen to show up at the spot within hours of each other… ugh, I don’t know. It felt slightly off to me! BUT, that is a very subjective opinion! I will definitely be recommending this book to my friends!
