I have been, not so patiently, waiting for Lucian and Sloane’s story!! Knockemout has such a special place in my heart and I’m secretly hoping this isn’t the last we see of these characters. The sarcastic banter between the two main characters is delicious! I felt that the beginning was a little on the slower side; however, once the spicy scenes started…. Holy moly. The best part was that they continued their banter throughout the intimate scenes. I found myself being turned on but also chuckling to myself at the same time. Lucian is so strong, dominating, and just rough. At the same time, he is so caring and gentle with Sloane. It is the absolute best of both worlds! The bathtub scene?? Favorite part of the book! I cannot rate this book without talking about Knox and Nash. As far as supporting characters go, they are two of the best! The way they talk about their women, love on them, and defend Sloane, ugh, chef’s kiss.
The only reason I did not give this book 5 stars is because of the slower beginning. It wasn’t that I necessarily needed the spice sooner, but I feel like there could have been more from when they were teenagers. It gave us such a sweet and genuine look into the beginning of the relationship and bond, and I truly think if there would have been a few more of those chapters sprinkled in, it would have allowed us to fall even more in love with their characters. I just adore Lucy Score and the Knockemout series. She writes in such a way that allows you to become engrossed in the characters and their lives. When I can’t pick up another book for a few days because I’m mourning the “loss” after I finish a series, I know that the author has found a forever reader in me!
