“How different would things have been if, instead of taking a step back, we’d taken a leap of faith?”
“I don’t think I could run out of ways to tell you how much I love you if we had a hundred years together.”
(I couldn’t choose a favorite quote.)
In a nutshell: cutie costars play the long game.
Liv and Ransom wanted each other for-ev-er but it took twenty years for them to come together as lovers. Whatever. I really, really, really liked so many things about the book. It was cute. It was fun. It was sweet. It was a very, very slow burn—TWENTY YEARS, which I’m not usually into but it was written well. It was honestly the perfect read I needed at the moment.
However, I wasn’t a fan of Liv even THINKING about changing her career plans for Ransom, that is just not ever the vibe. And Ransom, I don’t know…I loved him and his immediate need to not let Liv get away again but sometimes he gave off fatherly vibes rather than lover so sometimes I felt the ick.
BUT OVERALL, 10/10 would recommend. There were also a brilliant mix of friends that Liv and Ransom had in their lives, and I’m always on TEAM FRIENDSHIP. I also feel the incredible need to re-start FRIENDS from the beginning even though I’m halfway through the series. Apparently, maybe, this was the first type of book Kate Olson has written but I think she did amazing and hope she leans in again if a romance spark were to light again.
