A great romance book with all the twists and turns of real life dating.
Lily Greene is a shy, awkward, bookish person who feels inadequate compared to her accomplished family who all strive for black excellence. Lily dreams of becoming an editor for children’s books rather than the lawyer her mother hopes she would be, but is stuck in an assistant editor role or personal assistant role for one of the most difficult editors to work for.
To escape her reality she reads fantasy books. Her favourite book is written by N Strickland and one day she discovers he has a website and she can send him an email. So she does and a blossoming friendship begins. Lily feels understood for the first time by ‘Strick’ and begins to fall in love over email. However, when they decide to meet he ghosts her.
Devastated Lily goes back to her life and one day as she is coming home to her sisters apartment she meets a new neighbour Nick. Although he is extremely attractive and they have a real spark, Nick prefers to just be friends. So rather than having her sisters set her up with a date for her sisters wedding she enlists Nick’s help.
Unbeknownst to her, Nick is more than just the neighbour he is actually ‘Strick’. Will he tell her, how will she react? How will it all end?
If you are looking for a book you can’t put down and have to know what happens this one is for you. An enjoyable, romantic although frustrating at times story.
