The book starts out as any love story would – perfect boyfriend, who is supporting, loving, caring, and kind. Kathryn Hu is not sure which tree he fell out of, but Tucker Jones seems pretty amazing…until she stumbles onto something extremely upsetting – Tucker is two timing her!
Wait, no.
THREE-TIMING her!
So she meets up with the other jilted ladies, Olivia and Elle, who also were slighted by this player, and they hatch a revenge plan to get back at this lying cheater.
All goes according to plan: the immaculate apartment is destroyed, their DNA is everywhere (I mean, some toiletries had to be sacrificed for the greater good), and as they are about to head out to celebrate the impending look on Tucker’s face when he gets back to his apartment, they stumble ON HIS DEAD BODY…IN HIS OWN CLOSET.
And, um, they didn’t do it. Most likely. But if they did not, allegedly, then who? Was there a fourth girl?? With the law enforcement and a true crime wannabe podcaster hot on their trail, will Kathryn, Olivia, and Elle clear their names of murder they did not commit?
I really enjoyed this book and read it in two sittings. I sat down to read a few chapters but ended up reading half the book before forcing myself to get some sleep. This was such an interesting story, filled with lighthearted bond between slighted women, and amateur sleuth investigating with a pretty unexpected plot twist at the end. If you enjoyed the movie “John Tucker Must Die”, this book would be very enjoyable as well. The book’s pacing was pretty good, and it was easy to follow (hence me reading it so fast). I was also a fan of Kathryn’s parents, who interjected themselves in her life in a very loving way, but also inadvertently helped with the murder investigation.
