I really enjoyed this one! This was such a sweet and cozy read with a few emotional moments that had me in my feels! There is just something about a cozy small-town fall romance that gets me every single time! It’s definitely one of those books that makes you want to curl up under a blanket with a warm drink for the entire afternoon. This book gave me a mix of Gilmore girls and hallmark vibes which I absolutely love! Rebecca (FMC) was such an interesting character because underneath all of her stubbornness and confusion, she was really just someone trying to figure out where she belonged. After losing the grandmother who raised her, she comes back home planning to fix up the family diner and leave as quickly as possible. But being back forces her to face a lot more than she expected, like grief, old memories, questions about her family, and especially her unresolved feelings for Cort (MMC). I loved that her journey was so much more than just the romance. Watching her slowly reconnect with herself, her hometown, and the people she left behind made the story feel emotional and relatable. Her friendship with Sabrina was also one of my favorite parts. Their bond felt supportive and genuine without any unnecessary drama, which was honestly refreshing! And Cort completely won me over. He’s patient, dependable, caring, and the single dad aspect made him even more lovable!! The way he showed up for Rebecca, even after all the years and misunderstandings between them, was really sweet! Their relationship had that “right person, wrong time” feeling with so much lingering tension and slow-burn longing. This book felt so nostalgic and full of so much heart! If you love second chance romances, cozy fall vibes, small-town settings, and emotional stories about healing and finding your way back home, I think this one is definitely worth checking out!
