Holy twists and turns! If books like Gone Girl and Girl On The Train are your thing, this book will definitely be your vibe. I brought this book with me on a 22-hour flight to Thailand and it was my savior on more than one occasion. This thing packs a serious punch. It’s like it’s written to keep you plowing through chapters.
It starts off right away with an ominous prologue that immediately left me reeling to connect all the dots. Short chapters that are often preceded by a foreshadowing paragraph or poem, leaving no time for lulls in the storyline.
In addition to the entertainment and excitement this book provides, I think Jane Corry did an exceptional job at writing characters that although you may not like, you can identify with and understand; including our favorite kind, the sexy bad boy (don’t worry ladies, I got you ????). You find yourself strangely rooting for people on all sides while also betting against them.
This is the kind of book that makes you happy when the trains are delayed or your friends are late to brunch. Or in my case, having a major case of jetlag and being stuck in the jungle, unable to sleep. It’s like the universe giving you a gift to get a few more minutes and a few more pages in. Definitely recommend.
