“Or, if you don’t know yet, if you want to move to Omaha or Idaho or Spain, then I’ll spend everything I have on plane tickets or invent teleportation, break the laws of physics just so I can fall asleep with you every night. Whatever you want, Joni, because honestly, I’m just so f*cking tired of not being with you.” Talk about a male main character. I think I might be in love with Ren. Is that weird? Should I tell my husband? In all seriousness, Ren had so many quotable lines, and he pulled at my heartstrings the entire book. I have a secret obsession with main characters calling each other by their last names, and every time Ren did it, I swear I felt myself blush like he was talking to me. The sexual tension between Ren and Joni was described in such detail by the author, you truly feel like your own heart rate is increasing at times. My favorite scene in the book is when they all play capture the flag. It is the first time you get to see them really start to break down their walls again, and the reader gets to see different versions of their relationship. I also enjoyed the back and forth between past and present. I couldn’t wait for them to reconnect in the present time, but I so looked forward to each wedding experience too. I was honestly hooked from the very beginning and I’m super sad that it’s over. I miss the characters already! The only reason I took off was because the miscommunication trope is my least favorite, and the fact that this one took 2.5 years to get cleared up, it killed my soul a little bit more. Clearly not enough to affect the book too much though.
