I’ve been on a psychological thriller binge; this is my third in a row, which with two small humans feels like a binge. I’ve just finished Annie Ward’s The Lying Club and this particular roller coaster lasted all of two days. I had to know how it ended.
Meet Brooke, Natalie and Asha: three very different women who are all connected through an elite private school in the Colorado mountains as well as the good looking assistant athletic director at the school, Nicholas. One morning, two bodies are found and, well, here we go!
When I first dove in, I wondered if the issues these women faced were going to be superficial, but this well-woven story has you guessing for most of the book as to who the victims are, as well as the offender. A lot of time is spent developing the characters and although I wasn’t partial to any of them particularly, I was still invested in their stories and enjoyed the ride.
I can totally see this as a Netflix series and would recommend reading the book before you ever get the chance to watch the explosive ending on TV!
