Dedicated: Midnight at The Christmas Bookshop by Jenny Colgan
I’m a huge Jenny Colgan fan; in my mind she can do no wrong. Couple that with the words “Book Shop” in the book’s title and you have a surefire winner. She wrote The Christmas Bookshop in 2021 so I’m excited to see the return of Carmen and McCredie’s little Old Town bookshop in Edinburgh. It’s the perfect backdrop for a romantic trope.
A big American film studio comes to town (in the summer no less) and wants to film a cheesy Christmas movie at the Book Shop. Carmen, swayed by the fat check the film will give her has no choice but to say yes and watch on the sidelines bemusedly as the production unfolds.
Love, drama, hot chocolate – it’s all there making it the perfect holiday read!
