I’m obsessed with all things tornadoes, so I was genuinely excited to finally get a storm‑chaser romance. If the first half of the book had made me feel the way the second half did, this easily could have been a near‑perfect read for me.
Once Wes and Sloane finally gave in to their attraction and curiosity, everything shifted. The story didn’t just become more exciting physically — it deepened emotionally in a way that completely pulled me in. The first half had plenty of teasing and sarcastic banter, but it also felt weighed down by fluff that didn’t keep me fully engaged. I think the connection between the characters would have landed sooner if there had been more emotional moments sprinkled throughout the beginning.
Then came the migraine chapter… and everything changed. I devoured the rest of the book in one night.
Wes was absolutely delicious — the perfect blend of sweet and gruff — and it was impossible not to swoon every time he took care of Sloane. Every woman wants to be independent and respected but also feel safe and cared for, and Wes hit that balance beautifully. When Sloane thanked him for making decisions easy because she’s always the one who has to plan everything, I felt that in my soul.
Overall, I did enjoy Chase Me If You Can and would read more from this author.
