I devoured Darling Daffodils Farm earlier this year and fell in love with this author’s writing. Bonfire and Bliss Bookstore follows Tallys sister Penny Darling that has her own bookstore in Hope Harbor. Since Pennys broken engagement with her ex-fiancé, the ladies of Hope Harbor have been trying to set Penny up on dates with any eligible bachelor. To get the town ladies off her back, Pennys best friend Jake Montgomery tells her that they can start fake dating, so she doesn’t feel pressured to go on dates. Jake and Penny were best friends in high school but Jake has been gone for 10 years to pursue writing his own books in New York City. He is back in Hope Harbor as he needed a change of scenery due to writer’s block. Jake and Penny make a deal that she will help him with his book if he helps her keep up dating appearances.

Jake has always had a crush on Penny but has never told her. As Jake and Penny go on fake dates to keep up appearances, the sparks start flying between the two. Penny does not want to get her hopes up since Jake doesn’t do relationships. Jake has some trauma from his parents’ divorce and doesn’t believe in love.

Bonfire and Bliss Bookstore was the perfect cute and cozy fall read. Grab a blanket, a pumpkin spice latte, and cuddle up on the couch to read this book. This had friends to lovers, second chances, fake dating, and small-town romance. Beware this book was spicy (Level 4 out of 5). I can’t wait for the series to continue with either Rosie’s or Billie’s story.
