I still mean everything I said last night…I’m yours and I want you to be mine. I want to come to your house and spend the weekend with you. I want to take baths with you at night and help you at your parents’ shop in the morning… Yes, our lives are different right now, but we aren’t different from each other. Not in the ways that matter. I see you and you see me.”
In a nutshell: slowest slow burn E-V-E-R! Angel is a singer and met Iris at her sister’s anti-wedding party three years ago. It was love at first sight for him and their little moments were just that until he and Iris had to spend a week together as he was the brand ambassador for her skincare company. I’ve been waiting for ‘The Love Lyric’ since reading The Neighbor Favor.’ Lily was the youngest sibling and Iris was the oldest-as the oldest daughter myself, I couldn’t wait to see her find a second chance at love (second as her first love was killed in a car accident.) My ultimate favorite thing that Angel said for Iris were the following: WHO TAKES CARE OF YOU?’ That is the perfect question to ask an eldest child/daughter and Iris (as well as myself) was putty from then forward. He was so caring and observant while also shouldering his own share of challenges, which just made him a greater MMC because he was selfless when it came to Iris. This book (this entire series) was the perfect combination of family (chosen and blood), relationships (work and romantic), as well as finding and chasing the version of yourself that you
thought was no longer attainable. Wait am I the only one who becomes the personality of their current read? It wasn’t hard because as I said, oldest daughter and child. I read something once that said something along the lines that ‘even Beyonce has Jay-Z,’ implying that if it’s your personality to take care of and do everything for everyone before yourself, it’s good to have someone to take care of you.
Favorite sister: Iris
Favorite MMC: Xavier
There were side characters: Bree and Ray that I’d love to get more on but the Greene sisters novels have come to a close and according to Kristina’s instagram, she’s going back to YA romance.
