Jennifer Weiner fans rejoice! Weiner’s newest novel, The Griffin Sisters’ Greatest Hits, may just be her best novel yet! The book tells the story of two sisters, Zoe and Cassie. As teenagers, the two formed the most popular band around: The Griffin Sisters. After a debut album threw them into stardom, tragedy struck and the sisters stopped speaking completely, never recording another album. The novel also winds in the story of Cherry, Zoe’s daughter, who is determined to get to the bottom of her mother’s life story.
In classic Jennifer Weiner fashion, The Griffin Sister’s Greatest Hits transports the reader back in time. Reading the story, I could picture the Griffin Sisters among other 2000s pop icons like Brittney Spears and Avril Lavigne. I also loved the focus on sisterhood. Though the book incorporates some romantic love and delves into the struggles of motherhood, sisterhood makes up the heart of the story. Overall, this novel is a must read for lovers of fiction!
