Local book club chapters are facilitated by independent hosts who organize meetings within their communities.
2. Independent Chapter Hosts
Chapter hosts facilitate book club meetings within their communities.
Hosts are independent organizers and are not employees, agents, partners, or representatives of The Gloss Book Club.
The Gloss does not supervise, direct, or control:
- The organization of meetings
- The venues where meetings occur
- The conduct of hosts or attendees
Hosts are solely responsible for organizing meetings, selecting venues, and managing event logistics.
3. Independent Activities and Events
Members and hosts may occasionally organize additional gatherings including but not limited to:
- Social events
- Travel or retreats
- Workshops
- Outdoor activities
- Other community gatherings
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, these activities are organized independently by hosts or members and are not organized, operated, supervised, or endorsed by The Gloss Book Club.
The Gloss assumes no responsibility or liability for such independently organized activities.
Participation in any such activity is voluntary and at your own risk.
4. Assumption of Risk
Participation in book club meetings or community activities involves inherent risks associated with group gatherings, travel, and social events.
By participating in any Gloss-related activity, you acknowledge and accept these risks.
Meetings often take place in third-party venues such as restaurants, cafes, libraries, or other public locations not owned or controlled by The Gloss.
The Gloss assumes no responsibility for the safety, policies, or operations of these venues.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Gloss Book Club and its owners, directors, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any:
- Personal injury
- Property damage
- Loss or theft
- Accidents
- Disputes between members
- Damages resulting from participation in meetings or activities organized by hosts or members
This includes any retreats, travel, social gatherings, or other activities organized within the Gloss community.
6. Member Conduct
Members are expected to interact respectfully and help maintain the welcoming environment that The Gloss strives to foster.
Members agree not to engage in:
- Harassment or discrimination
- Unsafe or disruptive behavior
- Misrepresentation of affiliation with The Gloss
- Unlawful activity
The Gloss reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership for violations of these guidelines.
7. Membership Subscriptions
Membership provides access to the Gloss community, resources, and book club network.
Membership subscriptions may be offered on a monthly, bi-annual, or annual basis.
Auto-Renewal
Membership subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
For annual memberships, reminder notifications may be sent prior to renewal.
Payment Methods
Payments are processed through secure third-party payment providers such as Stripe.
Refund Policy
Membership subscription fees are non-refundable once processed.
By purchasing a membership, you agree to the subscription terms and automatic renewal conditions.
8. Physical Products
The Gloss may offer physical products for sale through the website including:

Refund or return policies for physical products may vary depending on the item and applicable consumer protection laws.
