Joni Perry

I have been teaching for most of my life, from my earliest days when I forced my brothers to be my pretend students, to more than 35 years.  For most of my career, I have been able to combine my two passions — teaching and art — and not only find enjoyment in both, but also experience deep fulfillment. I began my educational journey with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, but I quickly realized that I love sharing art just as much as creating it. I returned to school to pursue a degree in art education, which ultimately led to an elementary teaching degree and, later, a master’s degree in elementary education curriculum. I discovered Montessori early in my career and have been a Montessori teacher for over 30 years. I remain constantly energized and curious as a learner. I also enjoy reading and sharing books.
