I’m fully aware that I am about to write the most frustrating review possible, but when gathering my thoughts about this book, I noticed how I didn’t really feel one concrete way. Initially, I felt like it was too slow of a start for me, but then I looked back and appreciated all the details that were laid out about the family history and their business. Then, I felt like I wished the author had been more descriptive with the intimate scenes and not glossed over them quite as quickly. However, once I got to the end of the book, I understood why she would gloss over the intimate scenes with Daniel because it wasn’t meant to be him at the end. While there were more details given in scenes with Ellis, I still found myself wanting more. BUT I also get why it wasn’t such a big focus. Ellis was right for Cassia for SO many other reasons besides physical. He was thoughtful and caring in a way that went beyond normal levels. Cassia wasn’t the only person falling for Ellis every time he showed! I think I’m used to male main characters that are more in your face swoon-worthy, and overbearingly protective and adamant about what they want. It took me a little bit to appreciate Ellis’s more subtle kindness and gentle love, but by the end of the book, I found myself enjoying his stability and the way he loved Cassia. I really enjoyed the premise of this story. I loved the idea of everyone having a “fated”, and how the red string connected the two people in the visions. It was such a unique concept that I haven’t heard of or read in a book before, and even though I don’t have these feelings like, “Oh my gosh, I’m obsessed!”, I truly enjoyed reading something new.
