Book review

The Network is book 1 in a new series by L.C. Shaw. This book starts in New York when journalist Jack Logan receives an unexpected visit from Senator Malcolm Phillips (Jacks high school sweetheart’s (Taylor) husband). Malcom swears he’s about to be murdered in an “accident” and begs Jack to take care of Taylor. Days after this meeting Malcom is dead. This send Jack and Taylor on a race to find out the truth. Their search leads them to the Institute led by Damon Cross. How much power can one person have? How big can this conspiracy be? How many powerful people can this one-man control? Who can Taylor and Jack trust? These and so many other questions leave the reader wondering how this will end. The Network was a fast-paced quick read. It took off from the first chapter and didn’t slow down. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait until the next book in this series comes out. I didn’t want to put it down. This book had a little of everything thriller, suspense, sci-fi, politics, and so much more. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good thriller. It leaves the reader wondering if anyone can be trusted and how much power can one person have. If you want something that is a little different than your normal thriller I would highly recommend The Network. I would give this book a 4.8/5.
