Book review

Edge of your seat, page-turning thriller. Anna a badass action actor is struggling to find steady work on screen. However, off screen she finds herself in a battle…to save her friend and herself. Anna lands the part of a lifetime and this time, her life depends on it. She relies on her acting training, think high speed chases, hand-to-hand combat and sharp shooting. Twists and turns throughout the book kept my attention from wavering. My heart raced as Anna dodged shadows in the night and that sinking feeling you’re being followed or watched, only Anna was being watched and hunted. Anna wasn’t the only one acting as she found out not everything or everyone was as it seemed. I ripped through the pages trying to think ahead of Quirk to figure out the real villain(s). I was guessing, incorrectly, to the very end. Slowly Anna’s character is developed as a secret from her past reveals itself throughout the book. I found her hardened character to be relatable and believable. The world was harsh to Anna and she did everything to protect the ones she loved and was steadfast in seeking justice even when it put her in peril. Although I would not have gone to the lengths Anna did so I couldn’t relate to the danger she put herself in. I could very well relate to the anxiety that comes along with not feeling safe as a woman, whether it be walking alone at night or feeling like someone is outside of your home. I was easily transported in those scenes to how Anna was feeling and her vulnerability. My only critique is I found the opening of the story and some of the character development to not be as integral to the story and I would have preferred it not be included. I highly recommend The Method to readers who enjoy page-turning suspense and action.
