The Lying Game by Ruth Ware (A Review by Sarah Wreford)

“I need you.” Those are the words Isa receives through text message on her cell phone and those are the words that change Isa Wilde’s life forever. Isa Wilde seems to have her life pretty much together – wonderful husband, baby girl, and a beautiful flat in London. Even though things seem great on the outside, Isa still struggles with her past. The Lying Game by Ruth Ware (author of The Woman in Cabin 10 and In a Dark, Dark Wood) is a psychological thriller that transitions from past to present unraveling the dark secrets of Isa Wilde and three of her closest friends. Though Isa may not see her friends often, they all still remember their days at a boarding school and the trying times they once encountered. If you are looking for a novel that you won’t be able to put down – this may be it. Ware’s writing had me turning pages in anticipation of the conclusion which left me completely surprised and satisfied. In fact, I think readers may even enjoy it more than The Woman in Cabin 10. Save this novel for a day at the beach as it comes out in July 2017. The only problem is that you may spend most of your time reading the novel instead of enjoying your time on the beach.
