Book review

I found this book incredibly difficult to get into. I had to keep putting it down which led to it taking way longer to finish. The plot isn’t that deep, it’s a variety of a few key characters who have flaws (like all of us) and the two main characters Celine and Luke are trying to push those flaws down and ignore them all while hurling towards the alter to get married. Luke and Celine have been with both men and women and they think they have found their true partners in one another. This is all despite the fact that both of their ex partners come in and out of their lives. The book outlines the flaws of both Luke and Celine however Luke’s issues are the ones focused on. Luke lies, cheats and isn’t able to empathize with Celine or anyone for that matter about how his actions hurt someone. I found the characters to be surface level and not that developed, the plot fell short for me. This book was just okay. Definitely not my favourite.

Brilliant books, meaningful conversations.

We start the conversation around books, but it always leads to something deeper: real connection, meaningful friendships, and a place where everyone belongs.
