Book review

“Maybe my heart could come first for the right person.” Chapter one and I was already puddy in Cord’s hands. In a nutshell: CORD MATTHEWS IS EVERYTHING. Pearl and Cord used to work together. Pearl left the company and the state. Cord was super sad. And they reconnect at an event as she’s moved back to Chicago. I.e. Cord’s time to shine again. Outside of Cord being the perfect man and Pearl taking her sweet time admitting facts; there was friendship, inclusivity and kiddies in technology. Pearl worked at a job that caters to young people interested in STEM–OurCode. OurCode is an excellent idea to start engaging interested parties early. I certainly wish the opportunity was presented to me when I started writing as a child but I digress. And Cord started a fitness app that took off, which would be nice for the app I hope to develop. Cord Matthews is such a dreamer. Is he my favorite DW book boyfriend? Sorry Wes. CORD. CORD. CORD. At the back of the book, Denise Williams added a sneak peek to her next novel ‘Just Our Luck,’ starring Sybil. And I’m wondering who Sybil is since her characters usually tie together. Excited nonetheless, even though I didn’t read the excerpt because there wasn’t a release date and the wait for another DW novel is torture enough.
