Slipstream, Madge Maril (Review by Sara D’Onofrio)

I want to start off by saying I liked this book so much more than I anticipated I would! I tend to lean towards books that aren’t quite such a slow burn, but I genuinely enjoyed how the main character’s relationship progressed. Falling in love isn’t always easy and obvious, and the author did a great job of showing how trauma and different mental health issues can play a huge factor. One of my favorite scenes was actually when Arthur tried to hide his panic attack from Lilah, but she stayed right by his side and helped him through it. It shows patience, understanding, and the desire to be there for someone you care about. It was also about the fact that Arthur CHOSE to let her in at that moment. Initially he tried to push her away, but eventually realized her presence was helping him. Their bond was solidified beyond the physical attraction, and that was very special. Max was the worst, and I would have loved to learn more about what happened to him in the epilogue. Arthur’s letter to Lilah at the end was absolutely swoon-worthy. I wanted to jump into the book and kiss him myself! Overall, I enjoyed this book and would absolutely recommend it for others!
