Book review

I received this as an ARC in March, and unfortunately, I received it at the same time I received quite a few other ARC’s. Somehow it got mixed in with my regular bookshelf, and that is the story of how I was denied this gem for almost 2 months. I devoured this in two days, and also sacrificed my sleep, and let’s be honest, all of my responsibilities. I am not quite sure I have ever read a story where I loved every single one of the characters (minus the ones I was supposed to hate). I feel invested in each one of their stories, not just Rocky and Phoebe’s. The bond between all six of them is literally palpable through the pages, I’m obsessed with everyone’s banter. Friendship, sibling, lover… it doesn’t matter, the banter is amazing! I was able to guess some of the surprises that were revealed, but I absolutely did not see the one about Varrick coming, and I love how well the authors incorporated that storyline. In the midst of all the mystery and excitement, the vibes were still vibing between Rocky and Phoebe, and I was here for every single scene. I would blink and another 60 pages would have gone by. I was dying to see more of their connection but equally dying to uncover more of the secrets. How did I end up liking Jake Waterford so much?? When authors can fully change your opinion of a character, it truly shows how life-like their writing style is! I can already tell who the main characters are going to be for the next book, and I cannot WAIT to see how it all plays out. I have my guesses, and I sincerely hope I’m right because I don’t want any of them to be hurt! Great job to Krista & Becca Ritchie!
