Academic rivals are always a good time – the love and hate of these relationships always have me coming back for more. What was even more poignant was the immigrant story that underlines the entire book. We learn so much about Catalina and her family. With the political unrest and why so many families need to seek asylum in other countries was eye-opening and heart-wrenching.
