Book review

Contemporary romance at it’s best! Meet Catalina Diaz Solis, who fled Venezuela after her brother died in a political protest. She’s finishing her engineering degree and needs a job to be able to stay in the United States, but for some reason Gabriel Cabrera is always in her way. At every turn he is taking what is rightfully hers (her grades, her potential internship) and she can’t get away from him. Academic rivals are always a good time – the love and hate of these relationships always have me coming back for more. What was even more poignant was the immigrant story that underlines the entire book. We learn so much about Catalina and her family. With the political unrest and why so many families need to seek asylum in other countries was eye-opening and heart-wrenching. It made the relationship between Catalina and Gabe so much more real and engaging. Can’t say enough good things. You should read it! Buy the book! Amazon Canada Amazon US
