Confessions of a Forty-Something F**k Up by Alexandra Potter (Review by Renee Casella)

When her business goes bust and her fiancé with it, Nell’s happily ever after in California falls apart, and she moves back to London to start over. But a lot has changes since she’s been gone… all her single friends are now married with children, she’s now renting an apartment with a stranger. She does meet the fabulous Cricket after landing a job writing obituaries and they help each other navigate through this time in both their lives. This book was laugh out loud funny in parts, upsetting in others but all realistically portrayed. What do you do when the world around you evolved when you were just stumbling through? This book reminds you that we’re all in this together and “success” or “happiness” means different things to different people. Alexandra Potter writes in a way that you feel you are right alongside her and experiencing everything through her eyes. A complete reading comfort, I cannot wait to binge watch the show, Not Dead Yet which was based on this book, along with her sequel!
