Book review

Struggling artist Skylar Moore is shocked when she receives a phone call from a lawyer she’s never met regarding a large inheritance from someone she can’t recall ever meeting. After investigating the matter on her own, she comes to the realization that she met him once at a hotel bar and shared a one-night stand almost a decade prior. They never exchanged numbers or last names and Skylar struggles with the question of “why?”. Why her? Why now? What does this all mean for her? Who is this man? The man, Christopher Whaley’s family is confused and suspicious and threatens revenge on Skylar. After a series of events leave her disoriented and terrified, Skylar is determined to find out the reasoning behind this strange bequest. This is the first time I’ve read this author but after the conclusion of this thriller, I need to read more from her!! I enjoyed this page-turner and couldn’t turn my eyes away! Almost felt myself turning my back to see who was following Skylar myself. I could feel her shock once she found out about the sum of the inheritance and awe once she finds out who he is/was. You can feel the way she tries to plummet forward looking for answers, and into her past relationships after you find out a shocking twist about that long ago weekend.
