*Please note, this review contains spoilers for A River Enchanted, the first in the duology, so read with cautionWow-this duology has become one of my absolute favorite fantasy stories with some of my newfound favorite characters!! I absolutely loved A River Enchanted and jumped at the opportunity to review A Fire Endless by Rebecca Ross. What an incredible story and I can’t wait to read more from this author! When I finished A River Enchanted, I knew the countdown was on for me to have to wait to see what happens to all my favorite characters, and I was not disappointed! I was very sad to see this end and leave this world behind. The Isle of Cadence is fractured, East versus West, with years breeding hostility between the two clans, Tamerlaines and Breccans. In the West, Adaira, Cora to her newly reunited mother and father, is trying to adjust to life in a new and unfamiliar environment with their own unique customs and politics. When Jack arrives in the West, they begin to navigate this together, her as the daughter to the laird and him as a bard who cannot play his music in the West. In the East, a blight has spread amongst the land and is infecting the people. Torin, the new laird of the East, has been taken by the fairies and is fighting to return home as Sidra fights to find a cure for their people. When Bane, the spirit of the North Wind begins to grow in power and takes further control of the isle, all will have to fight in their own ways to save humankind-but this will not be easy and scarifies will be made. I found it very challenging to simply summarize this book because it is just so massively incredible, in my opinion! This story had me hooked from the beginning-well really since the cliffhanger at the end of A River Enchanted. If you enjoy books with action, romance, drama, fantasy-then this is the book for you. In case you couldn’t tell from this review, I highly recommend this book and the duology as a whole! Start with A River Enchanted first if you haven’t read that one!
