There are so many things I loved about this book! For one, after coming off of two DNF’s for not being able to get into the story or characters, I thoroughly enjoyed how the storyline literally started from the first chapter! I was hooked and the pages just started flying by. Second, the witty banter was extremely well done. However, what made it even more special was the fact that it wasn’t just the banter between the main characters, it spread out to so many characters. Max’s brothers were the cutest uncles, and their relationships with Everly were precious. I already can’t wait to get my hands on all of their stories. Dakota was hilarious and I loved badass but also totally relatable she was. Obviously, the best banter was between Max and Cozy, but it was refreshing to have so many other funny lines in the book. I found myself chuckling out loud at times! Third, can we just give a slow clap for the representation of a healthy co-parenting relationship?? It was unexpected and so much more enjoyable as a reader. And one last thing that deserves recognition in my opinion, the bonus epilogues! When I am really into characters, I often find myself wishing I had a glimpse into a little bit more of their lives, but not this time. It was great to see the smallest little snippet of how things turned out for everyone! I do feel like the storyline drug on jusssst a little bit. I think it could have been roughly 100 pages shorter. That is such a subjective opinion though! Also, at times, I didn’t love the way Max snapped at Cozy. It felt like he would go off on her and then would apologize quickly or try to use their physical connection to make it okay. I would find myself being like, “hey, don’t talk to my girl Cozy like that.” All in all, I really enjoyed this read and I’m looking forward to diving into another one of this author’s books!
