Start your own Chapter
The Gloss has 150+ chapters around the world – but we’re always looking to expand into new cities and new communities to bring more women together. If we don’t have a chapter near you please get in touch – we’d be happy to explain how we work with local women to start new chapters and see if it’s a good fit.
Q&A

If we don’t have a chapter local to you, then we’re happy to help you get started with a new Gloss Book Club.
This question comes up a lot! So it's good for you to know when it does. We read a lot. We work with the big and small publishers to identify the best new books out there and then we hold a global vote to decide which book will become this month’s Gloss title. Curating our book list is what we spend the most time on and we take this role very seriously. When we choose a book to be included in our monthly vote, we aim for it to be available in paperback in all countries at a certain price point for accessibility – which makes it a bit of a challenge at times.
We are completely open to suggestions for titles to include in future book votes. Book recommendations have to come from someplace, so please encourage your members to email us at info@theglossbookclub.com with their ideas. We will then take those suggestions to the publishers to find out if those books meet all the criteria.
If your members sign up to receive The Gloss email newsletters, which we encourage them to do, they will receive a link to the monthly vote.
We meet for book club once a month, but feel free to host secondary events for your community should you wish. If you’d like to do a brunch or a movie night for the members of your chapter, that’s up to you (and it’s certainly not mandatory.) We just encourage one meeting a month around the book of the month.
We meet at public places like restaurants, book stores, or libraries. Restaurants with private rooms are best because attendees have the opportunity to order food and drinks and the noise level isn’t too high. But private rooms aren’t always that easy to pin down. We suggest meeting on a Monday or Tuesday night when businesses aren’t that busy – they may be happy to have you! We do not meet in private homes.
