Entities to Lovers, Mallory Marlowe (Review by Aura Johnson)

Entities to Lovers by Mallory Marlowe is a fun paranormal romance that mixes ghosts, humor, and an enemies-to–lovers relationship. The story centers on Rory Woods, a psychic medium who helps run her family’s spirit shop in Boston. She spends her days giving readings and her evenings leading ghost tours, dressed up as a ~deceased~ character with an elaborate back story. To make things worse, she has to work with Ezra Blackwell, a history professor whose sarcastic attitude and constant jokes never fail to get on her nerves…and her ghost tours.

Everything changes when Rory and Ezra accidentally end up cursed by a ghost during one of their tours due to their constant bickering. The strange curse causes bad things to happen whenever they are too far apart, leaving them no choice but to stick together while they search for a way to break it. As they investigate haunted locations, deal with restless spirits, and try every possible solution, the two begin to see each other in a different light.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun mix of paranormal elements, a little bit of spooky mystery, and a sweet romance that kept me interested the whole way through. Even though I’m not personally someone who believes in all the “woo woo” stuff (as Rory likes to call it), I still found those parts really entertaining. The supernatural side of the story added a lot of personality and made it stand out from a typical romance novel.

One thing I especially liked was that the book didn’t focus only on Rory and Ezra’s relationship. There was a whole world happening around them, with different spirits, haunted locations, and paranormal investigations that made the story feel more alive. Some of the entities were surprisingly helpful, while others caused plenty of trouble, which kept things interesting and added some suspense without ever becoming too scary. I also liked how the paranormal plot and the romance worked together instead of competing for attention. Overall, it was a lighthearted, entertaining read that balanced humor, mystery, and romance really well, making it an enjoyable book from beginning to end.
