I am a former marketing professional, and I stopped working when I had my twin girls 21 years ago.
My extracurricular activities include: taking an art class every semester at the community college, playing Bunco monthly, playing mah jongg, hopefully weekly (when I can make it) volunteering and seeing my friends as my time permits. I also like to read, and historical fiction is my favorite genre. About 5 years ago a good friend asked me to join the Gloss book club, and I told her I was too busy. She was the host. About 2 months later, she asked me again, and this time she asked me to co-host. The second time she asked, I said yes. I am happy to say I have read every monthly book since I joined the club. I am now the host, and I look forward to our monthly meetings. The club forces me to read books that are out of my normal realm. I usually learn something, and I enjoy our meetings. Not everyone has time to read the book each month, and that is okay. We have a lively group, and we enjoy answering the discussion questions. New members are always welcome to the Gloss book club in Anne Arundel County, near Annapolis, Maryland.
