If you like a crime novel then look no further. I have never read a book by this author before but he writes well and I want to read more in the series.
This book is set in Belfast in 1988 when the IRA is rife. A man is found dead in front of his house and he has been killed by a crossbow. It is no hunting accident. But finding who is responsible will take Detective Sean Duffy down his most dangerous road yet.
Detective Sean Duffy is a likable character and you are drawn in quite quickly. It was a little slow to start as the scene was being set but then I could not put it down as I wanted to know what happened. You also learn about Northern Ireland and the corruption at this time which was really interesting.
A thought-provoking read and one that book club could enjoy but as it is a series I think it is hard to just read one.
