Want to discuss great books with like-minded friends in Fort Myers?
The concept is simple. We’re a global book club for likeminded individuals to discuss great books! All members of the book club read the same book over the same period; members then meet up in their respective cities at the end of each month to discuss the book and exchange views.

The Favorites by Layne Fargo
She might not have a famous name, funding, or her family’s support, but Katarina Shaw has always known that she was destined to become an Olympic skater. When she meets Heath Rocha, a lonely kid stuck in the foster care system, their instant connection makes them a formidable duo on the ice. Clinging to skating—and each other—to escape their turbulent lives, Kat and Heath go from childhood sweethearts to champion ice dancers, captivating the world with their scorching chemistry, rebellious style, and roller-coaster relationship.
Until a shocking incident at the Olympic Games brings their partnership to a sudden end.
As the ten-year anniversary of their final skate approaches, an unauthorized documentary reignites the public fascination with Shaw and Rocha, claiming to uncover the “real story” through interviews with their closest friends and fiercest rivals. Kat wants nothing to do with the documentary, but she can’t stand the thought of someone else defining her legacy. So, after a decade of silence, she’s telling her story: from the childhood tragedies that created her all-consuming bond with Heath to the clash of desires that tore them apart. Sensational rumors have haunted their every step for years, but the truth may be even more shocking than the headlines.

Hi Pat! Yes, The Gloss is for all ages, but our attendees are mostly women. We are currently looking for a new host for our Fort Myers chapter, and hope to get it going again soon!
I’m interested in being a host for the Fort Myers, Florida, chapter.

Darling!
Hi! I was really hoping to make it tonight, but unfortunately, work got in the way. I did want to let you know that I read the book and thought it was absolutely lovely! I’m planning to be there next month and really look forward to meeting everyone.
Hi Vicky! I’m sorry it took so long to respond – I wasn’t alerted to your comment. August was the Troublesome Women book, and that ended up being my favorite of 2025 that we read 🙂 It’s a bummer that work got in the way in August, but hopefully can make it to our January meeting now that it’s a fresh year.
Hi there. I have been interested in joining a book club for some time now, but have never participated in one before. I would love to learn more about Gloss, how often the club meets, for how long and where. I travel quite a bit for work, so might not be able to be at all meetings. I see that your next meeting is 12/20, but I will be out of town. Could you let me know when the following meeting is and what the next book will be? Thanks, Julie
Hi, Julie 🙂 I hope you’re able to make it to our January meeting. It is on the 22nd, and we’re reading Finding Flora by Elinor Florence. You can sign up on this page up above. We meet once per month for (usually) a couple of hours, but it just depends on how long everyone wants to hang around and what we’re discussing. This chapter has only been going since May of 2025, and we were meeting at Flock Wine Bistro at first and had to change to Bellini’s one month when Flock was closed unexpectedly since the staff was on vacation. We’ve been to Bellini’s a few times, but I decided to make January’s meeting back at Flock.
A few of us also travel for work, so the meeting dates do vary. I try to keep it the last week of the month if possible, but I’ve been also trying to work around our different travel schedules so we all have time to read the book and attend the next meeting. Our February meeting isn’t posted yet, but we’re planning on 2/23 back at Bellini’s since Flock isn’t open on Mondays.
I hope you’ll joins us!
Allison
