Book review

This is a stunning book based on the story of Rachel, a girl who believes she was responsible for the death of her parents and punishing herself in a mental institution for a crime shes been told she didn’t commit. Following an interview with a journalist hoping to solve her parent’s murder, Rachel is prompted to revisit her past to solve the mystery for herself. Told from the perspective of present-day Rachel and past Jenny adds a greater depth to the characters as you journey through what events preceded the murder. Set in the dreamy background of the North-Western peninsula, you explore how a mother would go to any lengths to protect her child. Rachel’s sister, Diana, was diagnosed as being a psychopath. Her family privately comes to terms with this and journeys raising her and the danger that poses especially to her siblings. As the mystery unfolds of Rachel regaining her memory you are gripped to find out what happens, guessing throughout what is coming next. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in complex dramas as it is filled with twists and turns that would please almost every reader.
