Monthly Meet The Author

Once a month, after a chapter has spent weeks living inside that month’s book together, we get the chance to do something most readers never do: sit down with the person who actually wrote it. Meet the Author is our monthly virtual session, open to every Gloss chapter no matter where you’re based, where that month’s author joins us live to talk about the book, take questions, and share the story behind the story. This is one of my favorite things we do at Gloss. Reading a book on your own is one kind of experience, but getting to ask the author why a character made a certain choice, or what inspired a particular scene, turns that experience into something we all share together. It’s community in its truest form: readers and the person who gave them the book, in the same virtual room, connecting over the story that brought them there.

About Your Host

Erin is the founder of The Gloss Book Club, which she started 18 years ago out of a simple belief: that books are better when they’re shared. Since then, she’s built Gloss into a community that spans chapters around the world, all connected by the same love of a good story.

As the host of Meet the Author, Erin has sat down with hundreds of authors over the years, including bestsellers like Jennifer Weiner, Cheryl Strayed, Stephen Rowley, and Elif Shafak, bringing readers into conversations that go beyond the book itself and into the story behind it. She believes the best part of reading isn’t just finishing the last page, it’s getting to ask the person who wrote it what they were really thinking.
