Rating 4/5 stars
First off-I have to say I absolutely loved the title of this book! I 100% gravitated towards this novel because of the title without even reading the summary, and I was not disappointed. I have found myself recently reading a lot of fantasy and romance novels so this deviation into more general fiction was a refreshing change for me and I think that made me enjoy the plot even more.
Anna, Samanta, and Jessica all have two things in common-Jake Sarnoff and secrets. As Jake’s massive social media company prepares to go public, these women all start to consider what that means for them and the secrets they hold. Anna is still processing her divorce from Jake, the father of her children and partner in both life and business. Samanta, the college girlfriend of Jake, is considering her options upon hearing this news and what it may mean for those important to her, such as her daughter. And lastly, Jake’s much younger new wife Jessica, who is a new mom dealing with a husband who is largely emotionally absent. What will all these women do to keep their own secrets?
Now to my review…I want to start by saying that I really enjoyed this book and found myself really connecting to the characters from the beginning in different ways. Why this book fell short of 5 starts to me is just because I found the ending to be so rushed, resulting in a lot of loose ends in my opinion. For example, I would have LOVED to see a conversation between Anna and Sam other than the news article, which only really provides a small glimmer into the outcome. I also really wanted to see more of the resolution after the final scene with Jessica, Anna, and Ben. Overall, I just wish the author had given more resolution for all these characters endings, but perhaps that was by design. Despite that, I still really enjoyed this book and would recommend it!
