17 year old Sarah Jones notices that there are quite a few of her namesakes living near her, so she starts “The Sarah Jones Project” where she meets all women named ‘Sarah Jones’ in her city, starting an unlikely bond between women. Things are great – they can run errands as each other (especially if no one looks at the ID photo too closely), commiserate over the commonality of their name, and have unique names for each other – going by their age number instead of their…same…name. Things start to get a little tricky when one of them ends up dead, and one of them is acting suspiciously. Now, all Sarah Joneses are in for a new adventure – investigating a murder, even if FBI is already on the case.
This was an interesting take on the story – a mystery where amateur sleuths are helping FBI solve the murder case for one of their namesakes. Told from different Sarah Joneses perspectives, it provides an interesting situation-by-situation updates throughout the murder mystery. The book felt like cozy mystery with certain darker elements that one normally would see in suspense thrillers. If you like cozy mysteries with certain, not-so-cozy-aspects, this is a great read.
