Love to Loathe You by Ali Hazelwood is a brilliant collection of three novellas. Each novella features a love story by a different woman with reoccurring characters. The three women are all in stem careers. They are independent, fierce, and clever. The men they love range from either being a first-time lover or revisiting a past lover. The heroes are also brilliant like their women. They are handsomely sexy, smart as a whip, and have tons of humor. Each one of these characters made the collection a huge favorite.
Inside this new release from Ali Hazelwood, are themes of friendship, new beginnings, and most importantly love. Each of the women rely on each other’s friendship to help pull them through each of their journeys. They also end up friending the men they supposedly hate or cannot stand. I found this to be hilarious. The tensions radiating off of the women were as obvious as neon signs. Yet the men appeared to be just as clueless as the ladies. As situations occurred where the characters had to face their problems head-on, talking had to happen. This then led to understanding and a friendship between the sexes. These women and their men were all tackling new careers, new moves, and each other. Therefore, new beginnings were inevitable for the cast of characters. Love either slowly burned for some of the couples or was instant and then built off slowly due to the couple’s situation.
Overall, I love and enjoyed each of the three stories in this epic romantic comedy. Ali Hazlewood is a master of words. Her characters popped off the pages. The emotions from all the characters can be felt through the pages. The pacing of each tale was quick and action-packed. Last but not least, the romance that sizzled was hot and entertaining.
