This book is a 30-day self-help journal in which the author guides you to write and define your goals and dreams and identify what needs to be done to achieve your goals.
It’s filled with affirmations and it is also complemented with a podcast that you can listen to on her website. The book starts relatively simple; the first chapters explain a little bit more about journaling.
Each chapter gets more specific, always focusing on your final goal and some of the chapters have a podcast episode that deepen into the subject. The book also has several questions focused on self-knowledge where you recognize and lists things you like about yourself and what you’d like to change by the end of your 30-day journey. The author also points out the importance of meditation throw-out this journey and some chapters bring a text that you can meditate on.
I like how simple the book is. As an avid reader of self-help books, I know that if the language is too complicated or the texts are too long and heavy, the book might become less interesting. Especially when it comes to journaling, it takes discipline to keep focusing on writing every day. So it really helps that the book is light and easy.
I know this book is not for everyone. I am one of those people that love journaling, I’m always listing my dreams and reading self-improvement books. I also love positive affirmation boards all over the place. So yes, this book was very good for me. I understand not everyone will enjoy this book, but I think it’s worth to give it a try.
